| Highlights works in partnership with over 70 voluntary promoting groups to bring high-quality professional theatre, music, dance and craft events to village halls, schools and community centres.
We organise over 130 events a year for communities in East Cumbria, South Lakes, West Durham and Northumberland, ensuring that people living in rural areas have access to exciting and entertaining professional events without having to travel long distances. The Northumberland Community Touring Scheme is run on behalf of the Northumberland Strategic Arts Forum to develop a new scheme for the whole county.
We also run a programme of participatory arts activities which anyone can join in.
Highlights is one of 200 organisations working to encourage young people under 26 to try A Night Less Ordinary. Free tickets are available for all drama productions from 16 February 2009 to the end of March 2011.
Highlights is a member of the National Rural Touring Forum, the umbrella organisation which represents the interests of Rural Touring Schemes throughout the country.
