Volunteering with Highlights

Volunteering with Highlights

Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. Without you, there wouldn’t be a thriving arts scene in villages around the region. Volunteers are not only responsible for promotions in their villages, but work directly with Highlights, acting as board members, inputting data and helping with publicity distribution.

If you are interested in having a more active involvement with the arts in your area, we’d love to hear from you. We are looking for people to help out in the following areas.

Inputting data

We collect data from our audiences, to provide valuable insights into how successful our promotions are. Karen who runs the Contemporary Craft Tour, collects lots of information each year from the Craft Tour. This is used for evaluation purposes particularly for our funders and to come up with new ideas to develop the programme. If you have a few hours to spare to input the data on her behalf either here in the Appleby office or from home it would be a huge help to Karen.

Publicity distribution

Every village promoter struggles with getting publicity out. It’s the single most time consuming part of being a volunteer promoter. A helping hand to put up posters and drop flyers off can really increase audiences for Highlights events. We can put you in touch with your nearest promoter to help out in your area.

Social Media

Any media savvy volunteers would be welcomed with open arms. We are always trying to improve our Facebook/Twitter presence, in order to keep in touch with Highlights audiences, promoters and artists. If you have a few hours to give, please get in touch with us and join Highlights team info@highlightsnorth.co.uk
